Marshmallow spaghetti challenge
We have been doing various trial and error explorations. The children were asked to make a structure that could hold the large marshmallow. They worked together in a group of three. The children are learning to plan, have ideas, and keep trying.
Feeding the fish
Oh it was wonderful to go to the High School and feed the fish. We were also doing some observational sketches.
Making a boat to float and carry bears
Another science investigation was to make a boat that could float and hold bears. The groups of children were given aluminium foil. They discussed and planned how to make the boat. We did this investigation twice. This is because we are learning as scientist to reflect on what worked and what didn't. Then make changes to improve our boat design when we do the investigation the second time.
